Terms and Conditions
The following refers to:

‘Event’ refers to the Solaris Cancer Care Walk 2022.

‘COVID-19’ means the pandemic and/or public health emergency resulting from the virus and any variation of that virus or illness.

‘You’ – means you as the event participant

‘Event Organiser’ means Solaris Cancer Care.
By choosing to complete a registration form for the Solaris Cancer Care Walk, You accept the Terms and Conditions of the event.
If You are under the age of 18 you must obtain permission of a parent or guardian over the age of 18 to participate prior to the Event.
You consent to Solaris Cancer Care entering your registration and personal details into their database. This information will be used for administration of the Event and for further marketing of other walks or events run by Solaris Cancer Care. If You prefer your data not to be entered You must contact the Solaris Cancer Care Fundraising team.
As a team leader You may need to register multiple people and You confirm:
- Your team members have authorised You to register them.
- You have provided all your team members with a copy of these Terms and Conditions, and they agree to abide by them.
If You register on behalf of any child/children, You agree that you will provide supervision for the child/children pre, during and post the Event at all times.
To participate You agree to abide by any COVID-19 guidelines and restrictions, as applied by health authorities and Government, in the Bunbury region.
You agree to undertake a reasonable assessment of your health status before attending the event and will not attend the Event if:

You have experienced or exhibited any symptoms of COVID two weeks prior to the Event or on the day of the Event.

You are required to be in quarantine or to isolate.

To attend would be inconsistent with public health recommendations and directions in the relevant location.
To participate in the Event, You agree that you are not aware of any illness, injury or any other disability or impairment which may cause you or others illness, injury or death during the event. If You are unsure about your medical suitability, we advise seeking advice from your doctor prior to participating.
You agree that images and/or footage and information may be used in media, printed material, online (including social media and website), in presentations and proposals without payment or compensation. If You are under 18, Your parents’ have granted permission for your image to be used (as approved through the online registration process).
You accept that your image and/or footage and information may be published beyond the life of the 2022 Event, and they may be used to promote future Events.
You understand dogs are permitted but must be on a lead the whole time and You will abide by the local laws governing dogs at Koombana Beach Foreshore and the surrounding area. You understand dogs cannot take part in the 5km run only the 5km walk. You understand that dogs and dog leads can pose risks and You agree to ensure your dog and lead do not become one. You agree that if at any time your dog shows any signs of aggressive or strange behaviour You will remove your dog from the area immediately without being asked by the Event Organiser or Event volunteers on the day. You agree to clean up after your own dog and bring your own bags.
You agree to abide by the Event format and any directions or conditions about which You are notified. You agree that the Event organisers may vary the Event without prior notice.
You acknowledge that the Event Organiser or event staff may ask that you leave the Event if your behaviour is inappropriate or abusive to others. If You do not follow any instruction or direction in relation to COVID-19 or if You have consumed drugs or alcohol which are both not permitted at this Event. You will be asked to leave if you breach the Terms and Conditions of the Event.
You agree that the Event Organiser is not responsible or liable for any loss, damage or injury that You may sustain while participating in the Event or otherwise associated with the Event. You, your heirs and executors, hereby waive, release and forever discharge the Event Organiser, any sponsor or promoter of the event, event volunteers and event service providers.
You declare all the information you completed on your, your team or your child/children’s registration form is true and correct.
Assumption of COVID risk
You will ensure that you follow the State or National laws, regulations and guidelines relating to the COVID-19.
You will not participate in the event if you have experienced any of the following in the two weeks prior the event:
- You have undergone a COVID-19 test
- You have come into contact with a person who has been diagnosed with COVID-19
- You have come into contact with someone who is a close contact of a person who has been diagnosed with COVID-19
- You experience a temperature, flu-like symptoms, repertory symptoms, a sore/dry throat or a persistent cough or any other symptom that is associated with COVID-19.
You accept that you are not entitled to a full refund of any entry fee paid for the Event where it must be cancelled due to the requirement by the State or National agency arising out of the needs to manage the COVID-19 pandemic.
You acknowledge the contagious nature of COVID-19 and assume the risk that You may be exposed to or infected by COVID-19 by participation in the Event. You understand that the risk of becoming exposed to or infected by COVID-19 at the Event or while present in any relevant venue or race area for the Event may result from the actions, omissions, or negligence of yourself and others, including but not limited to the Event Organiser. You release and discharge the Event Organiser from any claim which You have or may have in respect of being exposed to or being infected with COVID-19 as a result of attending the Event.
COVID-19 Safe Practices
You agree to follow any direction or instruction given by the Event Organiser or Solaris Cancer Care in relation to abiding by the current State or National regulations. This may include instruction on:
- Social distancing measures
- Hand hygiene requirements
- Staggered entry and exit times
- Temperature check
- Answering any COVID-19 related questions on your arrival at the Event or in the lead up to the Event
- Sign in and/or out of the Event on the day
Notification of COVID symptoms
You agree to contact the Event Organiser if you develop any symptoms of COVID-19 in the two weeks prior to attending the Event or the week immediately following the event. Please contact the Event Organiser on 9384 3544 / 0477 915 919 or email events@solariscancercare.org.au.
